This article will walk you through the process of manually scaling up and down your WordPress site. Similar to the auto-scaling feature, we also give you the ability to manually scale so you can create and take away containers when you need if your site’s coming under a heavy load or you know there’s going to be a lot of
traffic.
- Go to the CONTAINERS page and you’ll see the Scale Service button.

- You’ll notice there’s Current Container Count and New Container Count.

As you adjust the slider the New Container Count changes and you can Apply those changes from there.

- You’ll see the new container starting up. The load from the original container will start to go down and that will be distributed out amongst the new containers that were just created.

- To scale down the site, simply go back to the slider and adjust the New Container count back to 1 and apply.
Please note that you are charged hourly per container so it means that for every container you create apart from the base one, you will be charged hourly. For instance, if you are running the foundation plan for the website, you will be charged five dollars an hour per container.
